The derivation of this name is uncertain. The
fire and brilliance of this gemstone is at par
with any of the other stone. Its popularity is
due to the vibrant colors of greens, blues and
pleasing earth tones and affordability.
Since medieval times, Zircon is
said to have brought wisdom, honour and wealth to
the one who possesses it. It is especially priced
for protecting travelers from harm, and even today,
the Hindus believe that Zircon can stimulate spiritual
growth.
Zircon is the December birthstone and is associated
with the sun signs Taurus and Scorpio.
Gomed Medak, Hessonite, and Cinnamon Stone are
the alternative names of Zircon.
